Long-Term Balances

EXPECTED ELECTRICITY AND GAS BALANCE REPORT

The aim of the project “The Anticipated Long-Time Balance between Electricity and Gas Supply and Demand“ is to determine and to characterize possible trajectories of the development of the power system and gas system of the Czech Republic in such a manner that the power and gas systems would be able to meet the requirements for the supply of electricity and gas with the necessary reliability, taking into account technical, economical, environmental and socio-political conditions.

Note: This document is a brief excerpt from the report produced on the basis of request § 20a, paragraph 4, letter f), of Act no. 458/2000 Coll., on business conditions and on execution of state administration in energy sectors and on the revision of certain acts (Energy Act) as currently valid and provided to ERO, MPO, ČEPS and NET4GAS at the brink of 2010/11.

Footnote:
This report presents results of resolved issue processed during 2010 so it can not reflect actual world development from the beginning of 2011, especially situation in Arabic countries and problems with nuclear energetics in Japan due to earthquake and tsunami. It is obvious that new German attitude to nuclear energetics as well as the development in Arabic states may have significant influence on European electricity and gas supply trends, on fuel and electricity prices and thus on operation and development of the Czech Republic power system. We claim that despite these possible changes the essential development trends of the Czech power and gas industry are valid including mentioned risks and conclusions. Actual development will be respected in the next consequential report.
