With the amendments to Act No. 165/2012 Coll., on Supported Energy Sources, new activities and responsibilities of the market operator arise, directly related to the range of activities performed in the Register of Guarantees of Origin system. These include the organisation of Guarantees of Origin Auctions for market participants, with the possibility of buying and selling, ensuring the issuance of Guarantees of Origin from supported production facilities to the account of the Czech Republic and at the same time preventing the issuance of Guarantees of Origin from these production facilities to the accounts of their owners, and the sale of Guarantees of Origin from the account of the Czech Republic in the form of auctions.

In connection with these changes, the Register of Guarantees of Origin system has been extended by a new module for auctions of GO’s, which enables the organization of the Auction of Guarantees of Origin and the implementation of associated processes in order to meet the new legislative requirements.

On 12 May 2026, the Market Operator will organise an information webinar summarised in the main information about the upcoming Guarantees of Origin Auctions, including the possibility of testing by participants before the actual launch.

From 26 May 2026 to 28 May 2026, tests will take place in the OTE test environment for interested account holders in the Register of Guarantees of Origin.
