Parties of the 15-minute market time unit (MTU) project are pleased to confirm that full readiness has been successfully achieved and go-live is therefore scheduled for 30 September 2025 (trading day) for delivery day 1 October 2025.

Throughout the testing campaign, Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) tested their systems under a wide range of market conditions. Two iterations of member testing also enabled market participants to confirm the readiness of their own systems.

The market operator had previously confirmed its full readiness to meet the originally planned launch date of 11 June 2025 through a statement published on 30 April 2025, and thus welcomes the confirmation of the go-live date for the implementation of the 15-minute MTU in SDAC.

The market operator considers the introduction of the 15-minute MTU as a key step towards increasing the efficiency and flexibility of the European day-ahead electricity market, and acknowledges that its active involvement has positively contributed to the project’s successful preparation and scheduled implementation.
