<p>Following legislative changes in the electricity market that came into force on 1 August 2026, OTE, a.s. has introduced several new measures for market participants. The initiatives are designed to support the continued development of flexibility services, energy storage, independent aggregation, and the modernisation of processes related to renewable energy support schemes. <p class="x_MsoNormal"><span>The Market Operator informs market participants, in particular prospective aggregators and flexibility providers, that the information system now allows the submission of applications for the assignment/change of an aggregator for metering points that will provide flexibility from 1 September 2026.</span></p> <p class="x_MsoNormal"><span> </span></p> <p class="x_MsoNormal"><b><span>The Market Operator reminds aggregators and flexibility providers that, under the applicable legislation, the process of being assigned as an aggregator/flexibility provider takes at least 10 working days. It is therefore recommended that the assignment of balance responsibility for imbalances caused by the provision of flexibility (i.e., setting up the so-called aggregator balance responsible party for aggregate EANs) be completed first, and that applications for assigning the aggregator to the physical EAN metering points that will provide flexibility from 1 September 2026 be submitted as soon as possible and for the earliest possible effective date.</span></b><span> This should be done well in advance to ensure that both the aggregator and the aggregator BRP are assigned to the relevant physical EAN metering points no later than 1 September 2026. In the relevant application for the assignment/change of an aggregator for physical EAN metering points, the earliest date that may be entered as the “effective from” date is the nearest day for which the statutory deadline for submitting the application has not yet expired, i.e., 10 working days before the requested effective date.</span></p> <p class="x_MsoNormal"><span> </span></p> <p class="x_MsoNormal"><span>In this context, the Market Operator again expressly draws attention (especially to aggregators and flexibility providers) that, in the case of generation metering points registered using two paired EANs (an EAN for export/supply data and an EAN for import/consumption data), the relevant application for the assignment/change of an aggregator in the Market Operator’s system must always be submitted for both EANs simultaneously. Otherwise, the application will be rejected.</span></p>

<p>Please note that from 1 August 2026, the date from which guarantees of origin may be issued will change following the amendment to Decree No. 166/2022 Coll., on energy reporting under the Act on Supported Energy Sources. Guarantees of origin will newly be issued no earlier than <strong>on the 16th day of the month following the month of production</strong>, instead of the current 15th day.</p> <p>Thank you for your understanding.</p>

In the first half of 2026, short-term electricity markets achieved the highest trading volume in their history, with 21.2 TWh of electricity traded at a total value exceeding CZK 53 billion. <p>Due to the absence of the implementing regulation to Act No. 165/2012 Coll., on Supported Energy Sources, the timeline for the launch of both the Guarantees of Origin (GoO) auctions and the credit system within the system for the Registration of Compliance with Renewable Energy Use in Transport is being revised.</p> <p>This implementing regulation constitutes a necessary precondition for the operational launch of both mechanisms. <p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Dear Market Participants,</span><br><br><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">We would like to inform you about upcoming updates in short-term electricity markets in the Czech Republic.</span><br><br><b><u><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">In the OTE continuous intraday market</span></u></b><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">, which is organized as part of the European Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC),<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>there will be, in relation to <b>the deployment of the new R5.0 version</b> of the central SIDC system (XBID)</span><span lang="EN-US"> </span><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">on 11 June 2026, an <b>increase in market depth visibility from a maximum of 50 orders to a maximum of 100 orders</b>. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">The new version of the XBID system further improves system performance, security, and stability. Discussions on corrective measures necessary for maintaining the performance of the central system are still ongoing at the pan-European level. These measures can be implemented if the performance of the XBID system is significantly affected. Orders exceeding these limits will be rejected.</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent: -18.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">·<span style="font: 7.0pt \'Times New Roman\';">         </span></span></span><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">For DA and IDA, it will be possible to apply user limits to orders placed via the CS OTE trading portal user interface. If a limit is exceeded, order processing will be suspended without the option to continue. This will help improve the current notification mechanism, which allows users to respond to a system prompt and proceed with order entry. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">These new features complement the existing user (trading) limits and further enhance the trading experience in short-term markets. A detailed description of the new features will be published in the user manual on 15 June 2026. </span></p>
