Limitation of Support for Outdated Cryptographic Algorithms

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance system security, OTE is limiting support for cryptographic mechanisms that no longer meet current security standards.

Specifically, this concerns:

  • RSA keys shorter than 2048 bits
  • hash algorithms MD5 and SHA1

These algorithms and key lengths are considered insufficiently secure and may pose a security risk.

We recommend that all users and partners verify the certificates they use and, if necessary, switch to:

  • RSA keys with a minimum length of 2048 bits
  • modern hash algorithms (e.g., SHA-256 or higher)
